Human Beings vs. Human Doings
"There were spaces between Donald, and whatever he said; strangers had forced him to live in his head". ~John Prine
There is often a disparaging gap between who people "are" and what they "do". But we are human "beings", not human "doings". God knows the difference between weak and wicked - do we? The wicked need judgment, the weak need strength - our strength. Are they getting it, or are they getting our judgment? God's judgment is sure, all men and women will know it, if the church never does another thing. God's love, on the other hand, is dependent upon the expression of His body.
Read it for yourself in Scripture: "As I live and breathe," God says, "every knee will bow before me; Every tongue will tell the honest truth that I and only I am God." So tend to your knitting. You've got your hands full just taking care of your own life before God. Forget about deciding what's right for each other. Here's what you need to be concerned about: that you don't get in the way of someone else, making life more difficult than it already is. (Romans 14:11-13 MSG)
